FL Teacher Accused Of Killing 6-Year-Old Son, Reports Say
A mother, who teaches in Pasco County, was charged with second-degree homicide in the death of her 6-year-old son, reports said.
LAND O’LAKES, FL — A Pasco County teacher is accused of killing her 6-year-old son on Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.
Justine Mroz, 40, was charged with second-degree homicide, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to reports of the child’s death just before 10 a.m., the agency said.

Mroz called in her son’s death to law enforcement, reports said.
While the sheriff’s office didn’t release details about the victim or how he died, the department said on Sunday afternoon that deputies were investigating the death of a 6-year-old boy, Tampa Bay 28 reported.

Pasco County Schools confirmed that Mroz is a teacher in the school district in a statement provided to the Tampa Bay Times.
Mroz “will not be on any school campus,” the statement said. “In accordance with Pasco County Schools policy and employee privacy laws, no additional information will be provided at this time.

She is listed as a grad enhancement teacher at West Pasco Education Academy’s Harry Schwettman campus in Hudson, which has sixth- through 12th-grade students.
The family’s neighbor told Fox 13 that the neighborhood is quiet and safe.
"It's just not what we were expecting at all in this neighborhood. Everybody looks out for everybody. All the neighbors look out for each other," Savier Rodriguez said. "Nobody expected this. It's been super quiet for the last ten years. The last year or two, as they're building around it, it's not been as quiet, but still private roads. So quiet streets, quiet neighbors."
