Scammers Pretending To Be Pasco Permitting Asking For Credit Card No.

Someone is calling residents and saying he is a member of Pasco County's permitting team and is asking for credit card numbers.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Pasco County Building Construction Services is warning the community about a telephone scam.

Someone is calling residents and saying he is a member of Pasco County's permitting team and, as part of the county's permitting software update, he needs to confirm the customer's credit card information.

Pasco County Building Construction Services does not take credit card payments over the phone, and will never ask for a credit card number over the phone.

The county has received at least two calls from customers alerting the county to this scam. If you receive a call like this, do not provide any personal or banking information. Hang up and report the call to the Pasco Sheriff's Office by calling Pasco's non-emergency line at 727-847-8102, option 7.
