Driver Dies After Tesla Catches Fire In FL Crash

A 21-year-old Pasco County man died after losing control of his Tesla in an early Wednesday morning crash on U.S. 41, FL troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 21-year-old Land O Lakes man died in an early Wednesday morning crash that caused his Tesla to catch fire, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

He was heading south on U.S. 41, north of Goodman Drive, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road around 3:20 a.m.

He drove off the road, and hit both a utility pole and then a tree, FHP said.

The driver died at the scene, FHP said.
