Wrong-Way Driver Dies In Crash With Tractor-Trailer Truck: FL Troopers

The driver of a pickup truck going the wrong way on U.S. 301 early Friday died after crashing into a tractor-trailer truck, FHP said.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — The driver of a pickup truck, an unidentified man, was killed in a Friday morning wrong-way crash with a tractor-trailer truck in Pasco County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The pickup was heading south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 301 just before 5 a.m., FHP said.

The tractor-trailer, driven by a 41-year-old Haines City man, was heading north in the northbound lanes at the same time.

The two trucks collided head-on south of Mickler Road.

The pickup truck’s driver died from injuries sustained in the crash, while the other driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
