Year-Old Child Attacked By Dog In New Port Richey Home
Police said the mother left the child in his playpen to go with a friend to buy narcotics and alcohol.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A year-old child was flown to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg with deep puncture wounds and lacerations to his face and left eye after being attacked by one of two dogs in the home.
New Port Richey police responded to Northbay Hospital Monday after the 1-year-old was brought to the hospital with bite injuries.
He was in the care of his mother, Destiny Coleman, who told police that the baby was in his playpen in the home when she left to go with a friend to purchase narcotics and alcohol. As she left, she yelled to another woman in the home, Tina Dean, to watch the baby.
