The folowng is a press release from the New Port Richey Cultural Affairs Committee
The City of New Port Richey’s Cultural Affairs Committee is sponsoring a free guided Yoga Happy Hour in Cavalaire Square (Missouri Avenue, one half block East of Grand Boulevard) 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 7. The Yoga hour will be led by Jackie Loudakis LMT, CYT from Flow Yoga. This event is free and open to the public; however donations will be accepted for the Community Restoration Initiative. Participants are encouraged to bring yoga mats, blankets, blocks or any other items they require and water.
The Community Restoration Initiative is intended to restore culturally vital areas of the City through a partnership between Cultural Affairs, the citizens of New Port Richey and the City’s Public Works Department. The inaugural project is the rehabilitation of Cavalaire Square which began July 21, when committee members and volunteers came together to clean out the planters, make minor repairs, plant trees and install decorative shell mulch.
Built in 1998, Cavalaire Square was created to honor the relationship between New Port Richey and our sister city Cavalaire Sur Mer, France. Many citizens are not even aware of its existence. This project is intended to bring new life to the square so it can once again be a magnet for community gatherings.
