Flap Jacks Offers 'Best Breakfast in Florida'

The owner of the new Palm Harbor eatery expects business to pick up once word gets out about his omelets, crepes and pancakes.

has been slow to attract business since it opened at the end of August.

Owner Christos Karagiannis attributes the sluggish start to bad timing and a lack of advertising, not the quality of the food he serves.

In fact, the former Indianapolis restaurant owner and current Holiday resident says his place serves the "best breakfast in Florida," and he is offering customers a deal to come in and find out.

"We serve the best omelets, the best crepes and of course the best pancakes in town," Karagiannis said. "I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, so I know what I'm talking about."

He's offering a 10 percent discount to new customers. "I just want them to give us a try," he said.

In addition to breakfast, Flap Jacks serves lunch daily; menu items include salads, sandwiches and burgers, with specials such as country fried steak, liver and onions, and chicken parmesan.

Karagiannis says opening before snowbird season hurt his launch, but he hopes business will pick up once the word gets out about his food.

"I know you've got to have patience in this business," he said. "If the food is good, the business will come. Hopefully advertising and word of mouth will help make my business a success."
