Palm Harbor Bank Robbery Suspect Sought

Detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a man who they say robbed a Palm Harbor bank Wednesday morning.

The suspect entered Bank of America, 400 Lake St. George Dr., around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday and handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to a media release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. He implied he had a gun, authorities said.

The teller complied, and the suspect fled on foot northbound on Lake St. George Drive, according to the sheriff's office.

The man is described as a white man with "an olive complexion and five-o'clock shadow," between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 and weighing about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black-and-white checkered jacket, jeans and a black ballcap with a white or silver emblem. He wore dark-colored glasses with a gold rim, detectives said.
