Responders Plan Mock Water Rescue

Eight agencies, including Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and U.S. Coast Guard, are demonstrating how they communicate during a practice water rescue Monday, June 18, at Honeymoon Island State Park.

Eight agencies are staging a water rescue for the public early Monday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The U.S. Coast Guard is demonstrating a mock rescue using a Jayhawk helicopter and the Honeymoon Island Beach Patrol is performing a first responder training exercise beginning around 8:30 a.m., at , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The public safety showcase is meant to display how multiple agencies communicate and share resources when performing water rescues, the news release states.
