U.S. 19 Lane Closing Could Last A While: County
Work to repair a sewer line and roadway depression on U.S. 19 in the Palm Harbor area may take some time, county officials say.

PALM HARBOR, FL — Motorists who travel on U.S. 19 in the Palm Harbor area may need to get used to possible delays for a while. A sewer main break that caused a roadway depression to open up earlier in the week could take several weeks to fix, according to Pinellas County officials.
The breaking of the 8-inch sewer gravity line opened a depression in the easternmost lane of U.S. 19, just north of Curlew Road. To effectively repair the line, “crews must install a bypass where the line broke and then repair the damaged section of pipe,” the county wrote in a Wednesday afternoon email to media.
The lane is expected to remain closed in the affected area for “up to several weeks,” the county said.

Drivers who travel in the area are being asked to allow a one-lane clearance to the closed lane for safety reasons. The county says businesses in the affected area will still be accessible.
