Retired Florida state prosecutor Jeff Ashton will talk at the Selby Library about his new book that focuses on the Casey Anthony trial

Sarasota residents will get to directly hear from the man who led the state's case against Casey Anthony.

Jeff Ashton will talk about his book, Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony, at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the 's Geldbart Auditorium. The talk is free to attend.

The resulting media firestorm reached a fever pitch on July 5 when Anthony was acquitted of murder by a Florida jury. The verdict stunned the world and provided new fuel to a debate that had been raging for years: was Casey Anthony truly innocent or was this the worst courtroom decision in recent memory?
