Sheriff: Man Admits to Abusing Child

A 26-year-old Sarasota man confessed to sexually battery involving a 4-year-old child, according to the .

The Sheriff's Office charged Casper Dustin Milford Michael, 3000 block of 22nd Street, with two counts of sexual battery on a child, according to a news release issued by the Sheriff's Office.

Detectives said during a forensic interview at , the victim, who is now five, described in detail the alleged sexual abuse by Michael, the Sheriff's Office said.

The victim first reported the activity to an uncle last week. The uncle then contacted the child’s mother, who alerted authorities.

When detectives went to The Dollar Tree on Friday to question Michael at work, he admitted to the crime, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Michael was arrested and booked into the Sarasota County Jail, according to the Sheriff's Office.
