Update: 1 Dead, 1 Injured In St. Pete Shooting

A Thursday morning double shooting in St. Petersburg resulted in one death.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Thursday morning double shooting that has resulted in one death.

According to the agency, the the incident happened in the 700 block of 16th Avenue South around 10:24 a.m. Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found Adrian Lee Wilson, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. They were directed to a nearby alley behind Paris Avenue South where they found the body of Frankie Camacho, 24.

"(Camacho) had been shot and had already died at the scene," a Thursday afternoon email from police said.

Investigators believe the two shootings are connected. Wilson was taken to a local hospital and has been charged as a felon in possession of a firearm, the email said.

No further information is being released at this time.
