4 Rescued After 18-Foot Boat Sinks In St. Pete: U.S. Coast Guard

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Four people were rescued by a crew from the U.S. Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg after their 18-foot boat sank near Bayboro Harbor on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

After the four people were retrieved from the water, two were transferred to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office boat crew to meet St. Petersburg Fire Rescue at St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.

A photo shared by the Coast Guard from the rescue shows three of the people rescued wearing life jackets and the fourth clinging to them in the water.

The sunken boat was salvaged, authorities said.
