ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An alligator decided to take a dip in a St. Petersburg home's swimming pool Saturday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived they saw the reptile swimming underwater. Deputy Heather Harris took a selfie with the gator in the background before "playing lifeguard," the sheriff's office Facebook posted.

The small gator's snout was taped closed during Harris's wrangling adventure. She posed for another photo holding the reptile after her gator mission was complete.
