Power Restored For Most Areas of Pinellas County
Thousands of Tampa Bay residents woke up Thursday morning without power.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Power has been restored for thousands of Tampa Bay residents who woke up Thursday morning without electricity. As of 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Duke Energy's outage map showed about 81 customers without power in St. Petersburg and about 389 in the Palm Harbor area. Duke Energy first reported more than 10,000 customers without power, with the majority of the outages in St. Petersburg.
Duke Energy officials say the outage was caused by damage to transmission lines. The first outages were reported at 2:35 a.m. Thursday. Other outages were reported in Pasco County and Polk County.
