Arrest in Convenience Store Robberies
According to the Sheriff's Office, three robberies occurred in a short time span at City Food Market.

An 18-year-old St. Petersburg man has been arrested in connection to three robberies at a Lealman convenience store, authorities announced Tuesday night.
T'Checoy K. Johnson faces two counts of Strong Arm Robbery and one count of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon/Firearm, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Sheriff's Office, three robberies occurred in a short time span at City Food Market, 5028 66th Street North, in unincorporated St. Petersburg. The string of robberies took place on March 27, April 2 and April 5.

Investigators said a getaway vehicle and a fingerprint left at the scene linked Johnson to the April 5 robbery. Iinvestigators said that Johnson admitted to the two other robberies at City Food Market, after his arrest Tuesday.
In the April 5 robbery, the suspect was seen getting into a white, Toyota Yaris. The vehicle had a Florida license plate with a partial tag number of P57. St. Petersburg Police officers contacted Sheriff's detectives after locating
the Toyota Yaris with a partial tag number of P57 in St. Petersburg.

Detectives advised officers there was active probable cause to arrestJohnson based on a "latent print" left by the suspect at City Food Market during the April 5 robbery.
St. Petersburg Police Officers observed Johnson driving the Toyota, conducted
a traffic stop and placed him under arrest.
Johnson was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
Johnson is currently under investigation by both the Pinellas Park Police
Department and the St. Petersburg Police Department for other open robbery cases.
