Video Shows Masked Person Smashing Doors, Grabbing Money From Businesses: Police

St. Petersburg police are asking the public's help identifying a person who has been seen on video smashing doors and taking money.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg police detectives have begun investigating a string of smash—and—grab burglaries at businesses throughout the city, where a masked man broke through the front glass doors, a news release said.

About seven commercial properties were targeted in the date range of Sept. 3 to Oct. 25 during late night hours after shops closed. Business surveillance video showed a lone masked man entering two businesses on separate occasions taking undisclosed amounts of cash.

The bandit is described as a man wearing dark colored clothing, including a stocking mask and gloves to cover his face and hands, investigators said. The video provided by the St. Petersburg Police Department can be seen here.
