Carjacker Shot Outside St. Pete Restaurant: Reports

An 18-year-old carjacker was shot by his victim outside the Crafty Crab restaurant in St. Petersburg Wednesday night, reports said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An 18-year-old suspect was shot Wednesday night during an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of the Crafty Crab at 2901 Tyrone Blvd. in St. Petersburg, according to ABC Action News.

A man was waiting outside the restaurant while his wife went in to pick up food when a masked man, later identified as Simon White, entered the vehicle, reports said.

The victim reportedly pulled out a gun and shot at White, who is hospitalized in critical condition at Orlando Bayfront Health Hospital.

Police responded to the shooting just before 8:15 p.m., Fox 13 said.

Crafty Crab’s manager told WFLA that he was outside the restaurant when he heard two gunshots.
