Children Critically Injured In Crash On 22nd Ave N: Police

Friday afternoon, detectives are investigating a crash that has lane closure on a heavily traveled St. Pete road.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Update: A mother and her children were involved in the crash that has caused road closure Friday afternoon on 22nd Avenue North. The children do have critical injuries, Yolanda Fernandez, police information officer, told Patch.

St. Petersburg police have asked drivers to avoid the area of Tyrone Boulevard North in between 22nd Avenue North and Ninth Avenue North due to a crash that occurred Friday afternoon.

Find an alternate route as lanes are blocked as of 1:35 p.m. for fire rescue and investigators. Detectives have not released further details. Patch will keep you updated on the traffic conditions.
