Grand Prix Roars Through St. Pete
Nicknamed the "world's fastest spring break party," the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has officially taken over downtown St. Pete.
At Saturday's races, the sun was beaming and fans were cheering. Qualifiers and practices took up the morning hours while official races happened later in the day, including new Ferrari races this year.
IndyCar Will Power was the star on Saturday. Power took the poll and took down the course record for fastest lap ever at the Honda Grand Prix Course.
According to an IndyCar news release, Power set a circuit-qualifying record of 1 minute, 1.3721 seconds in winning the pole for the IZOD IndyCar Series' season-opening race March 25.

2012 marks the eighth year that St. Petersburg has hosted the Honda Grand Prix. The annual event draws thousands to the city, from both local and national perspectives. St. Pete's 1.8-mile track along the waterfront is a view in itself.
