DUI Driver Careens Into Bay, Swims To Shore: St. Pete Police
A woman accused of driving under the influence was arrested after driving into the bay, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A woman suspected of driving under the influence drove into the bay early Monday morning, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Cassandra Kaiser, 27, drove through the intersection of Central Avenue and Bayshore Drive Northeast into the water around 2:30 a.m.
She was able to escape from her vehicle and swim to shore.

Officers determined that Kaiser was impaired. She was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
