DUI Manslaughter Charge Filed In Fatal Crash: St. Pete Police

A man was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in a fatal crash on 34th Street N., St. Pete police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal Sunday night crash in the 1700 block of 34th Street N., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

The suspect, Kyle Hill, 33, of Pinellas Park was driving his SUV south on 34th Street N. in the middle lane, approaching 17th Avenue N., around 8 p.m.

At the same time, a car driven by a 35-year-old St. Petersburg man was also headed south on the same road in the adjacent curb lane.

Hill failed to stay in his lane and hit the car’s driver’s side, causing it to leave the road and hit a concrete pole, police said. The pole snapped and landed on top of the car.

The SUV continued south on 34th Street N. before losing control, hitting a tree in the median and overturning multiple times before coming to a stop.

Arislenne Blanco, 28, of St. Petersburg, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her next of kin has been notified.

Hill and the car’s driver, who hasn’t been identified, were both brought to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where they were both in serious condition.

In addition to the driving under the influence manslaughter and vehicle homicide charges, Hill also has been charged with violation of probation.
