ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 23-year-old Largo man was arrested early Saturday morning after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say he left his flaming BMW behind after a crash on 62nd Avenue North.
According to troopers, Nathaniel Combs, 23, was heading east on 62nd Avenue North around 12:30 a.m. March 11 “at a high rate of speed.” Combs was unable to negotiate a curve at Westchester Boulevard in his 2015 320I, a highway patrol report said.
The BMW rotated, went onto the road’s northeast shoulder and hit a fence. The car’s gas tank was punctured in the crash, which caused the BMW to erupt into flames, the report said.
