FLORIDA — Singles looking for love just in time for Valentine’s Day may have some luck in the Sunshine State. A new study recently ranked Florida among the top 10 best states for singles.
Sure, looks, job status and personality can affect a person's ability to successfully navigate the world of dating. Location can have an impact, too. For singles who call Florida home, this puts them at an advantage, according to the WalletHub study.
Florida ranked No. 3 overall — only behind California (No. 1) and New York (No. 2), the personal finance website found.

To help unattached Americans improve their chances of finding love, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of dating-friendliness. The data set ranges from the share of single adults to online-dating opportunities to restaurants per capita.

According to the study, the worst states for dating are West Virginia (No. 50), Arkansas (No. 49), North Dakota (No. 48), Wyoming (No. 47), Mississippi (No. 46), Kentucky (No. 45), Alabama (No. 44), Alaska (No. 43), Idaho (No. 42), South Carolina (No. 41) and Oklahoma (No. 40).
