Internet Artists Travel to St. Pete for Art Show

Tight Arists, an online art community, held its first official event on Friday night at the Studio @620 in downtown St. Petersburg.

On Friday night at , an art event called TRU_RL Tight Artists Offline was in full effect. Artists from all over the world were either in attendance or represented by their work for the pilot run of an actual, in-person art experience.

Normally, the artists communicate via the internet at the Tight Artists website. Local St. Pete artist, Hunter Payne, is a regular participant of the online collective. Payne brainstormed with other "tight artists" and came up with a plan to transfer the artwork from digital to tangible.

"It's really interesting to have a primarily online collaborative environment realized in physicality," explained Payne.

Tight Artists was formed by co-founders Adam Harms and Mary Rachel Kostreva. Harms is from L.A. while Kostreva dwells in Boston. The two were in attendance for the event on Friday night.

Both parties were impressed with the turnout at the Studio @620. "I know St. Pete hasn't had a lot of shows like this," said Kostreva. "But I'm very excited about the response."
