Man Killed In 65th Street North Crash

A 74-year-old man was killed in a Tuesday evening crash along 65th Street North.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Tuesday night crash that left a 74-year-old man dead.

According to police, Hoyle Massey was heading northbound on 65th Street North around 6:14 p.m. May 2 in a Honda Odyssey. As Massey was approaching the intersection with Fifth Avenue North, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Daniel Brizzi, 29, was headed east on Fifth Avenue.

Police say Massey tried to continue northbound on 65th Street, but drove into the path of the Chevrolet. The two vehicles collided.

Massey was taken to a local hospital following the crash, but died later from his injuries, an email from police said. Brizzi and his passenger, Nicholas Serrano, 35, were both hospitalized. Police have not released their conditions.
