ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg mother remembered her military son Dec. 6, two years after he died in a deadly mass shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, WFLA reported.

Evelyn Brady told the outlet her 19-year-old son, Mohammed Haitham, was killed 10 days before his 20th birthday. According to officials, a Saudi Arabian military officer who had been working at the base started shooting on Dec. 6. Three sailors, Haitham, being one of them were killed. Deputies killed the gunman following the three shooting-deaths.

Brady told the TV station her son was a go-getter and he was a track star at Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg. Brady felt proud of her son for following her military career after she retired from the Navy in 2009.
