Mom Shot Dead While Sitting With 2 Children In Car: Police
Detectives with the St. Petersburg Police Department are seeking information about a mother who was shot and killed inside a car Tuesday.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detectives are seeking information about a second shooting that occurred Tuesday in St. Petersburg when a mother was killed, St. Pete police said.
The victim, 21-year-old K'Mia Simmons, was a passenger in a dark Volvo along with her two children and a man when she was shot, according to St. Petersburg police. She was shot at 6:15 p.m. on 22nd Street South at 18th Avenue South.
She was taken to a local hospital where she later died, officers said.

Investigators said there is no obvious connection between the other homicide that occurred in St. Pete Tuesday. The person who shot her is unknown, investigators said. If anyone has information that can help in this case, call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780.
