Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Car In St. Pete
St. Pete police have identified the motorcyclist as 41-year-old Elijah Cates.
ST. PETE, FL — A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car over the weekend in St. Pete, police said.
According to police, at 5:04 p.m. Sunday, a red Mini Cooper was in the center lane of 1st Avenue South traveling east.
A black Harley Davidson Street Glide driven by 41-year-old Elijah Cates was eastbound in the north curb lane of 1st Avenue South.

Police said the Mini Cooper changed lanes and made a northbound turn onto 30th Street North in front of Cates and the vehicles crashed.
Cates was transported to Bayfront Hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later, police said.

The other driver, who was not injured, stopped and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Police have not identified the driver or if charges are expected.
