ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Savage Coffee, a family-operated coffee producer and roastery from Panama, will open its first U.S. boutique retail location next year in St. Petersburg.

The boutique coffee shop will open at the base of The Nolen, a 23-story luxury condo tower at 126 4th Ave. NE in downtown St. Pete, according to a news release.

The condo’s developers recently finalized a deal to sell the building’s ground-level retail space to the global coffee brand.

Jamison and Leslie Savage founded Savage Coffee in 2016. The company has received international acclaim for its Geisha coffee, an exotic variety grown on their award-winning farm, Finca Deborah, the news release said.

Jamison was also the first to commercially use carbonic maceration, an advanced method, in coffee processing

“It is with great pleasure that I’m able to announce the first Savage Coffees Café, located in downtown St. Petersburg at The Nolen, one of St. Petersburg’s latest, most exclusive residential buildings,” Jamison said. “Sharing our fine coffees with the St. Pete community is something we’ve wanted to do for some time and The Nolen is the perfect location.”

The Nolen, a green-certified community with 31 residences, will open next year. It’s already 100 percent occupied.

The project is a collaborative development by DDA Development, Backstreets Capital, Place Architecture and Melissa Kelly Design Studio (MKDS).

Smith & Associates serves as the building’s exclusive broker and Ellison Construction is the general contractor on the development.
