Pedestrian Critically Injured In I-275 Crash

A pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle at I-275's Pinellas Point Drive entrance ramp Friday morni

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A pedestrian was critically injured in a Friday morning crash at the Interstate 275 entrance ramp from Pinellas Point Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was standing in the I-275 safety zone at the entrance ramp around 9:57 a.m. June 2. As Deborah Mathews Waldecker, 56, of Sun City Center moved southbound in a Lincoln, troopers say the pedestrian walked into her path.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital in critical condition following the collision.

Troopers say no charges were filed in the crash. Further information is not yet available.
