Pedestrian Killed in Accident Wednesday Night
A 19-year-old St. Pete resident was an occupant in a truck that struck a 53-year-old man, who later died at a local hospital.

A 19-year-old St. Petersburg resident was a passenger in a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night.
Leo Carey Jr., identified by deputies as a 53-year-old transient, was killed when he was struck by a Ford F150 on Park Street in Seminole at about 10 p.m., April 17.
Neither Joshua Baron, the 19-year-old driver, nor Kory Brahm of St. Petersburg, a passenger, was injured.
The accident took place on Park Street just south of 54th Avenue North.
According to deputies, the 2003 F-150 was traveling south on Park Street
when Carey Jr. walked into the truck's path. Carey was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
Carey was transported to a local hospital, by ambulance, where he was later
pronounced dead.
Southbound lanes of Park Street just south of 54th Avenue North were closed
for approximately four hours.
Neither alcohol nor speed appear to be a factor in this case.
No charges have been filed at this time.
