Pinellas County DUI Wolf Pack Results Announced

Pinellas County deputies and other law enforcement officers teamed up for an overnight DUI Wolf Pack patrol.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of its Friday night DUI Wolf Pack operation. Staged in conjunction with police departments from across the county and the Florida Highway Patrol, the operation is part of an ongoing effort to discourage impaired driving on local roads.

According to the sheriff’s office, law enforcement arrested people on a total of 32 charges and wrote 125 citations during the operation, which began Friday night, March 3, and ended in the early morning hours Saturday.

The breakdown of charges was as follows:

Arrests

  • 14 DUIs
  • 3 misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance
  • 2 felony possession of a controlled substance
  • 4 misdemeanor driving while license suspended and/or revoked with knowledge
  • 1 felony driving while license suspended and/or revoked with knowledge
  • 3 no valid driver’s license
  • 2 felony warrant
  • 1 felony violation of probation
  • 1 possession of drug paraphernalia
  • 1 violation of driver’s license restriction

  • 39 speeding
  • 1 no valid driver’s license
  • 22 driving while licensed suspended and/or revoked with knowledge
  • 3 no insurance
  • 1 violation of driver’s license restrictions
  • 3 safety belt violations
  • 1 open container
  • 19 other non-moving violations
  • 36 other moving violations

“The goal of a Wolf Pack is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

The March 3-4 operation also included FHP and the Gulf Port, Belleair, Kenneth City and St. Petersburg police departments with help from G4S Prisoner Transportation.
