Police ID Woman Found Dead In Creek
St. Petersburg Police have released the identity of a woman whose body was found by a bicyclist on Saturday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department has released the identity of a woman whose body was discovered by a bicyclist Saturday afternoon.
According to the agency, Melissa Higgins, 40, of St. Petersburg was found dead in a creek near the Jet Jackson Recreation Center just before 2 p.m. April 22. Authorities have released no other information in the case, but have said detectives are treating Higgins’ death as suspicious.
Detectives believe Higgins may have been dead for more than 24 hours before she was found near the 1000 28th St. S. recreation center.
