St. Pete Police Officer Faces DUI Charge Following Crash Into Power Pole: Deputies
St. Petersburg Police Department Internal Affairs is investigating one of its officers following a DUI charge in Hillsborough County.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg police officer is accused of driving under the influence by Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies after he crashed his personal car into several TECO power poles, a St. Pete police news release said.
Officer Cody Csendom, 26, drove his vehicle eastbound on Big Bend Road in Riverview at about 3:15 a.m. Monday crashing into the poles, according to investigators. He has been removed from his patrol duties and placed on administrative duty until his charge of driving under the influence with property damage is resolved in court, detectives said. Internal affairs will launch an investigation to decide potential disciplinary consequences.
No one was injured in the crash, police said.

Csendom was sworn as a St. Petersburg Police officer on March 6, 2017. He is assigned to the K9 unit.
