  • What: The Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol Unit is accepting applications.
  • When: Applications are now being accepted until Thursday, December 15, 2016.
  • Where: Applications can be downloaded at tinyurl.com/h4elqy8 and submitted via emailto human_resources@pcsonet.com or in-person to Human Resources located at theSheriff's Administration Building, 10750 Ulmerton Road, Largo.
  • Why/How: Applications are now being accepted until Thursday, December 15, 2016 for thenext Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol Academy. This volunteering opportunity givescitizens a chance to work side-by-side with deputy sheriffs.

Volunteer Patrol applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States and be a full-time or seasonal Pinellas County resident
  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Successfully complete a volunteer application
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Complete a training academy
  • Be willing to volunteer at least 36 hours per quarter
  • Previous law enforcement experience is not a requirement
