Son Who Admitted To Killing Parents At FL Home Arrested In GA

A man admitted to fatally shooting his parents at their Largo home, calling it "a righteous kill," the sheriff's office said.

LARGO — A son is accused of killing his parents at their Largo home, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Elizabeth Lee Kirchner, 53, and Steven Eric Kirchner, 64, were found shot to death at their home on Saunders Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday after a welfare check was requested for an employee who didn’t report to work.

The couple was found dead in their living room from gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina told detectives about a separate incident involving Nicholas. During this incident, he said, “I’ve already killed two people; I’ll kill some more,” according to PCSO.

He fled this incident, as well, and was taken into custody by the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia.

Nicholas admitted multiple times that he killed his parents, describing it as “a righteous kill,” the sheriff’s office said.

He was arrested and booked into the McDuffie County Jail in Georgia on a felony warrant for two counts of premeditated first-degree murder.”
