FL Grocery Store Is The Best In The U.S., A New Ranking Says

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg grocery store ranked as the best in the country, according to a new study from Solitaired.

Mazzaro’s Italian Market, 2909 22nd Ave. N., took the No. 1 spot as the best overall grocery store based on customer star ratings.

Another Florida grocery store, Freshfields Farm in Orlando, also made the top 10, taking the No. 2 spot on the list.

To create the ranking, Solitaire analyzed more than 7 million Google reviews from 3,000 individual grocery stores across 100 cities looking at which shops stood out in customer service, food, quality, prices and the speed of checkout lines.

Freshfields Farm in Jacksonville took the No. 13 spot on the list. Trader Joe’s stores in Orlando and St. Pete were also among the top 20, landing at No. 15 and No. 16, respectively.

The Trader Joe’s brand has 33 of the best 50 rated stores in the U.S. Publix and WinCo Foods are also among America’s favorite grocery chains.

By location, Corpus Christi, Texas; Chula Vista, California; and St. Petersburg have the highest average rated grocery stores in the country, according to the study.

Mazzaro's, a gourmet market, offers fresh roasted coffee, deli selections, freshly made baked goods, handmade pastas, more than 300 specialty cheeses from around the world, a wine cellar, patio seating and more.

The shop got its start as a family-owned and operated coffee roasting company in 1993, according to its website. Then, in 1996, Mazzaro’s Italian Market opened in its 22nd Avenue N. location, growing into a local destination for residents and visitors.
