SunTrust Bank Robbed; St. Pete Police Search for Suspect

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue New York Yankees baseball cap, had on a black shirt and was carrying a blue and white backpack.

St. Petersburg Police say a man walked into the SunTrust Bank at 3601 34th St. N around 1:15 p.m. Monday, handed the teller a note and demanded cash.

No weapon was seen.

The suspect, according to police, is described as a white male, about 30 years old, 5-foot-6 with slender build. He was last seen wearing a New York Yankees blue baseball cap, had on a black shirt and was carrying a blue and white backpack.

After exiting the bank, police say a vehicle just east of the bank may have picked up the suspect.  

Police say they are still waiting on a description of that vehicle from detectives on the scene.
