1 Killed Over Weekend In Crash With Parked Tractor-Trailer: St. Pete Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg crash on First Avenue North Sunday involving a parked moving truck killed a 31-year-old woman Sunday afternoon, a St. Pete police news release said.

Stephine Ambrose of St. Petersburg drove a 2021 Nissan westbound in the north curb lane of First Avenue North just before noon, detectives said. A tractor trailer had been stopped in the 4700 block of First Avenue North making a delivery to a home. The Nissan crashed into the back of the tractor-trailer shortly after the driver finished their delivery and before they could move the truck, deputies said. The truck's emergency flashers remained on.

Following the crash, the car under-rode the semi almost to the trailer's back axle. There were no skid marks from the car, police said.
