Don King Joined Trump At Mar-a-Lago Over Holiday: Daughter

PALM BEACH, FL — Boxing promoter and Donald Trump supporter Don King joined the president for dinner at Mar-a-Lago over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to an Instagram post by King’s daughter.

“Dinner with dad and The President at Mar-a-Lago Friday night is one I will always remember. Great food, people, and a positive energy!” King’s daughter, Deborah King, captioned a photo of herself and Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

In another photo on the same post, Deborah King poses with her father, who is holding several small flags and wearing an American flag necktie with a matching scarf. Several other Mar-a-Lago visitors are also in the shot.

King was one of Trump’s few celebrity supporters during the 2016 presidential campaign, and he introduced the president at several rallies on the trail. He showed his support for Trump as recently as this summer, telling Politico in July: “He’s doing an excellent job, but it’s hard to evaluate because they don’t talk about nothing but Russia. … For over a year, without a shred of evidence — and this is what resonates with the lumpen proletariat and the common people.”

On Wednesday, Trump evoked King’s name in his tiff with media personality LaVar Ball.

“LaVar is just a poor man’s version of Don King, but without the hair,” Trump tweeted after boasting that he alone helped get Ball’s son returned to the United States after he was arrested in China.

Deborah King did not immediately return request for comment.
