Newly obtained records show West Palm Beach officers had encountered the same car months earlier, while the victims’ family now pursues a federal lawsuit accusing the city and seven officers of wrongful death and policy failures.
   

2. 'Choir of Man' cast sings Chris Rea's Christmas classic just before news of his death (wptv.com) — A holiday performance at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach took on unexpected emotion when the cast of “The Choir of Man” learned, just after singing Chris Rea’s “Driving Home for Christmas,” that the songwriter had died. The show, known for its pub-style energy and harmonies, is continuing its run at the Kravis Center through Dec. 28 with tickets available via the venue’s official site.
   

3. Federal officials release José Gonzalez from immigration detention (palmbeachpost.com) — An immigration case closely tied to West Palm Beach ended with the release of longtime Palm Beach restaurant manager José Gonzalez after his detention following a traffic stop in the city. Family, local residents, and officials from the Palm Beach–West Palm Beach community rallied with vigils, petitions, and fundraising to support him, and he’s now back home with loved ones just days before Christmas.
   

4. Allegiant Air Adds Four Florida Routes From Atlantic City (wrat.com) — If you’re flying between Atlantic City and West Palm Beach, Spirit already offers service from the New Jersey airport alongside routes to several other Florida cities. Allegiant Air has just joined the field there, adding new flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando Sanford, St. Pete–Clearwater, and Punta Gorda, increasing options for travelers connecting between South Jersey and Florida.
   

5. Barry Manilow shares early lung cancer diagnosis; Florida shows moved (palmbeachpost.com) — Barry Manilow’s early-stage lung cancer diagnosis is delaying his Florida tour, affecting Palm Beach County fans who often drive to Sunrise or Orlando and had hoped for dates at West Palm Beach’s iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre or Kravis Center. His Sunrise show is now set for March 14, 2026, with all tickets honored, and he expects to resume performing by Valentine’s Day after surgery and recovery.
