GEORGIA — The Peach State made its choice in the 2024 U.S. presidential race Tuesday.

The nationally-watched election pitted Republican former President Donald Trump against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump is projected to return to the executive chief's seat.

Trump first served as the 45th U.S. president from 2017-21. His victory comes amid several legal woes, including being convicted in a hush-money trial earlier this year in New York and surrendering to the Fulton County Jail after being indicted on racketeering charges in August 2023.
