Baby Survives Apparent Murder-Suicide That Kills 4 In GA

The 4 people who died in a weekend murder-suicide ranged in age from 18-51, Georgia authorities say. An infant in the home survived.

GLENNVILLE, GA — Four people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide Saturday at a Baxter Durrence Road home, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

Authorities said the fatal shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. in Tattnall County.

While the GBI did not fully reveal shooting details, they said it was an apparent murder-suicide that killed Veronica Quevedo Torres, 51, Veronica Quevedo Torres, 24, and Edilberto “Eddie” Marin-Torres, 18.

Authorities added Octavia Chihuahua Castro, 42, died after suffering an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Three other residents, including a 6-month-old infant, who were in the home were not injured, authorities said.

"Please keep the families involved in your thoughts during this difficult time," the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post published Sunday.

The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler will perform the autopsies.
