Listeria could cause serious or fatal infections in children, older people and people with weakened immune systems, the FDA said. People considered to be healthy may endure short-term symptoms of high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Pregnant women can experience miscarriages and stillbirths if infected with Listeria, the FDA said.
