Husband Fatally Shoots Naked Man Who Tackled Wife Off Lawnmower In GA

A husband in Georgia shot and killed a naked man who tackled his wife on a riding lawnmower while cutting grass, deputies said.

GEORGIA — Deputies said a husband in Georgia shot and killed a naked man who tackled his wife from her riding lawnmower as she tried to cut grass.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the shooting at the couple's home in the 3700 block of Trophy Place on Thursday evening.

Once on scene, deputies said they found 25-year-old Tyler Wade McElhenny, of Lizella, in the front yard of the couple's house naked with gunshot wounds to the chest.

Deputies said a 67-year-old woman was on a riding mower cutting grass when McElhenny tackled her from the heavy piece of equipment.

The woman's 66-year-old husband tried to pull McElhenny off his wife but he attacked him, deputies said.

McElhenny then began attacking the woman again and that is when the husband got his gun and shot him, deputies said.

The woman was transported to Piedmont Hospital and is being treated for her injuries. She is listed in stable condition at this time. The victim’s husband had minor injuries and was treated on the scene, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies said McElhenny was transported to the Atrium Health Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by staff. His next of kin has been notified.

Deputies have not released the names of the couple involved in the incident.
