Atlanta Rapper Ludacris Buys Private Jet After Graduating From Georgia State
Rapper and actor Ludacris showed off his new private jet on social media after receiving an honorary degree from Georgia State.
GEORGIA, GA — Atlanta rapper and actor Ludacris has treated himself in a big way after graduation.
The rapper, whose real name is Chris Bridges, was awarded an honorary bachelor of science degree in music management. He shared on his Instagram a new private jet, followed by the hashtag “familyupgrade.”
In the video he gives a brief tour of the jet, while singing the classic theme song to the TV sitcom "The Jeffersons."

"We're moving on up to the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky," Ludacris sang.
In the post, the rapper said, "the secret to flying high is to always stay grounded."

Ludacris was awarded the honorary degree on May 4 at Georgia State’s commencement.

He joined Georgia State's CMII as an artist-in-residence in 2019, the university said. In this role, he has mentored students and worked with CMII professors focusing on entrepreneurship in the music and film industries. In addition to his appointment at CMII, Ludacris worked with the College of Law on one of the first offerings of a course called "The Legal Life of …"
"This is a dream come true for me," Bridges said. "Georgia State helped me get my start and I am so honored and excited to share this milestone with the world."
Bridges took classes at Georgia State in the early 1990s before signing with Def Jam Records. In 2001, he founded The Ludacris Foundation, a platform to serve youth and families in urban communities.
