Several Injured At 'Vampire Diaries' Restaurant When A/C Unit Falls Through Ceiling
An air duct fell through the ceiling of Mystic Grill Restaurant in Covington. Several customers were injured, according to reports.
COVINGTON, GA — A Covington restaurant reopened Tuesday after an air conditioner unit fell through the ceiling Monday, injuring several people, according to multiple reports.
The Mystic Grill on Clark Street is famous for its role in the hit TV series, The Vampire Diaries. The incident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m., reported WGCL-TV. Five people were injured and two were taken to a local hospital when the metal ductwork fell from the ceiling.
"We are saddened by the incident at Mystic Grill last evening and hope everyone affected is doing well," the restaurant wrote on social media. The City of Covington fire and building inspectors have inspected the building and cleared us to to reopen. We will be serving lunch and dinner today with our regular hours of operation."
