Neighbor Accused in Acworth House Fire
A dispute reportedly led to an alleged arson at a home put in a trust by former Altanta Braves outfielder Otis Nixon.

An Acworth man is facing an arson charge after he allegedly set fire to his neighbor's home, which is owned by a trust in a former Atlanta Braves outfielders' name.
Officers responding to the call at the Otis Nixon home shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday met with the resident, 23, who said he came home to find the front door of his house on fire, Acworth Police Chief Wayne Dennard said in a press release.
A neighbor alerted him, which may have been the result of a dispute, WSB-TV reports.

The resident said he tried to put out the fire with a garden hose, but it continued to spread. The Cobb County Fire Department was called in and about two and a half hours later, had controlled the blaze, reports 11 Alive.
Damage to the home is extensive.

A resident of the 300 block of Bass Way, Lamine Diaw, 34, is accused of setting the fire. He was taken to the Cobb County Detention Center to be held.
